Some mac software that’s not originated from apple

Although there are some really useful built-in software bundled with mac (because of it’s native unix background) sometimes we need additional software. These are the applications I have found usefule during my year as a Macanian:

Witch – The window switcher that’s actually useful

Fluid – Your web browser is for web browsing.

VLC – the cross-platform media player and streaming server

CSSEdit – Design beautiful, innovative and fast-loading web sites…

Adium – Adium is a free instant messaging application for Mac OS X that can connect to AIM, MSN, Jabber, Yahoo, and more.

Flow – Flow is a stunning new FTP client built exclusively for Mac OS X Leopard.

Foldershare – Keep your latest files with you, no matter which computer you’re using.

Transmission – is a fast, easy, and free multi-platform BitTorrent client with a focus on being lightweight yet feature-filled.

Spanning sync – iCal, meet Google Calendar.

iStat Menus – monitors your entire system right from your menubar, with 8 separate and highly configurable menu extras.
