RSS or ATOM? What’s your opinion?

[tag]RSS[/tag] or [tag]ATOM?[/tag]The question has been raised many time, and because ignorance is a bless I have always answered Deliver in both formats. That is a very weak answer of course but I, who haven’t read the specs, just saw another format war around the corner,and that would certainly been contra productive and badly timed now when the net is actually really starting to share.

Lucky the world then that there are knowledgeable and interested guys like DeWitt Clinton that actually went through and read the specs both for RSS and ATOM. He recommends ATOM, no not only recommends, he actually praise it

That, and the Atom Syndication Format specification is the single best technical spec I’ve ever read. Seriously, give it a read just to see good spec writing in action. It’s concise, accurate, unambiguous, and contains the right amount of illustrative detail.
