Finally, a way to keep notes without getting insane.
I’m not insane, but my brain is certainly not organized in that tree structure that computers wants me to be. Instead I’m into tagging in (for external minds) ridiculous strange ways and links content that only I can see a relation between in mysterious paths that seemed right at least at the very moment the note was written down.
This means that my second best tool so far has been not to take any notes or to take them on a so called mindmap, paper based unfortunately. The best tool has actually been to not take notes at all, it will (I continue to fool myself on this) make my brain better to memorize things and I will not be in a situation where I need to check my notes from that meeting last spring.
Unfortunately my brain development is not even close in the combat with my lack of memory so the whole strategy is, as you guessed, not totally complete.
Therefor I got so lucky when I found TiddlyWiki a couple of months ago. A local, html-based personal that goes along very well with my synapses in my brain, with this tool I can map my motor boat with a client, a client with a web page about sponsorship and the sponsorship back to an address which maps to current weather and the weather is directly linked back to my boat.
Maybe the subject should go: How to take notes when your’e insane?
