Where is WinFS taking us?

Today some buzz has been around winFS. I admit that I actually didn’t know what [tag]winFS[/tag] was when reading about it today. I did get the grip quite fast though, because alot of rumours about [tag]Microsoft[/tag]s next filesystem has reached me during the last years.

I have spent numerous hours in the hunt for the perfect organizing system just to give up and rely on a good desktop indexing service instead these days. This means that a nice and efficient file system certainly has it’s path into my systems, no matter the origin. And the fact that nothing has happened on the file system since NTFS was released back in the 90’s needs no comment I guess?
